An attempt to fuse a vintage aesthetic into a contemporary piece. The idea was to provide the warmth, style and comfort of cane without compromising on the contemporary aesthetic we love.
Woven cane is high on comfort as it cradles your body, as though the seating is designed just for you. The point of inception was a quick survey where people expressed concern for the discomfort and pain that comes along with extra soft cushioned sofas.
The Fresh seater was the end product of my final year project. It was sponsored by Studio At-Tin, Mumbai under the mentorship of Mr. Aziz Kachwala (Principal Designer, Studio At-Tin).
The Fresh Seater was a winning entry in Godrej Design Lab 2016.
